  • Can site visitors purchase directly from the EM/POWEREDbyWMN website?
    Purchases can only be made for event tickets, pop-up bookings, or EBW merchandise. Purchases cannot be made with the brands listed within the Directory through our website. The EM/POWEREDbyWMN website is meant to be used as a guide or resource to finding a variety of women-owned businesses. It is not a marketplace. However, each of our listed brands are linked back to the business' official website where their products &/or services may be purchased directly.
  • Does EM/POWEREDbyWMN receive any affiliate compensation when site visitors use the backlinks to shop from the brands listed on the directory?
    No, EM/POWEREDbyWMN does not receive any compensation when site visitors shop from the brands listed in our directory. We want all profits from sales to go directly back to the women behind the brands.
  • Is this for businesses within the Bay Area only?
    Not at all! While we're rooted in the Bay Area, we already feature a few businesses in New York, Illinois, Hawaii, & more. Our mission is to become the go-to place for communities across the nation to find & support their local woman-owned businesses.
  • Is my business eligible to be listed on the EM/POWEREDbyWMN directory?
    To be considered eligible for our directory, the business must meet the following requirements: 1. Have at least one owner that is a woman 2. Be actively operating 3. Be based in the U.S. 4. Have an active business website/ecommerce site or physical location 5. Not engage in practices or produce products/services that promote violence or hate of any kind *We are not able to accept any MLM listings.
  • Where can I find the Membership plans?
    Because our Memberships are exclusive to active businesses based in the U.S., we require our Members to complete & submit the applicant questionnaire first. If the applicant meets all requirements, they will receive access to the webpage where they may purchase a Membership plan that suits their needs. However, an overview of our Membership plans can be seen in the "Apply - Directory" tab from our main menu.
  • If I become a Member, do I have to commit to a full year?
    No, our Memberships are based on monthly rates. You may cancel your Membership at any time & your business will be removed from our Directory once your last paid month ends.
  • How do you promote the brands on your Directory?
    Visibility is paramount for our platform because we know our visibility boosts your visibility. This is why we are utilizing various avenues to bring awareness to our platform & the Members within it. SOCIAL MEDIA - All Members get featured in a New Member post on our social media feed. Depending on your Membership plan, you may be included in several other promotional posts. Through collaborative posts, we are able to leverage audiences beyond our own. FLYERS - Our EBW print flyers can be found within numerous storefronts in various cities & also at the booths of some of our Members who frequently vend at markets. These flyers feature our website URL, photos of some of our Members & IG handles of Exclusive Members. OTHER PRESS - Our Founder, Krystal Jugarap, has frequent press appearances via podcasts, magazines, digital publications, digital ads etc. where she is adamant about spreading the word & sharing our mission. REFERRALS - We're the girls that'll say your name in a room full of opportunity. If we have someone looking for someone/something & you/your product/service fit the description, we won't hesitate to say so!
  • Do you vet all of the brands listed on the EM/POWEREDbyWMN Directory?
    We do our best to verify the legitimacy of all brands listed in the EM/POWEREDbyWMN Directory. We utilize a combination of social media research, reviews, website verifications, & an applicant questionnaire to determine if a business meets the requirements to be listed on our website.
  • I shopped with one of the brands listed on your website & didn't have a great experience. What should I do?
    We hope to maintain the integrity of our Directory as much as possible. If any issue should arise regarding a product &/or service you purchased from one of the brands listed on our Directory, please reach out to the business directly to resolve any issues &/or request a refund, if necessary. Additionally, please utilize our CONTACT form so that we can be made aware of any issues & monitor any future complaints with the brand(s) in question.
  • How can I cancel my Membership?
    You may cancel your Membership at any time by accessing your Member page & clicking the Account link. Your business will continue to be listed on the EM/POWEREDbyWMN Directory until your last paid month has ended. We are not able to offer refunds for any past months.
